Eric joined Paradise after a long and distinguished career as a journalist.
His most recent tenure was at the Tampa Bay Business Journal, where he covered tourism, hospitality and restaurants. Prior to that, he had a 13-year stint as a writer and editor at Creative Loafing Tampa, where he produced everything from long-form features to snappy blurbs.
Above all, Eric is a storyteller, which fits strongly into the creative culture of Paradise. He’ll use his “fresh eyes” in the marketing and advertising world to develop innovative content that emphasizes surprise and disruption.
Eric grew up in the suburbs of New York City and earned an English degree from State University of New York at Cortland. At college, he played lacrosse and basketball. He still pays hoops — after, of course, applying all the proper salves, compression sleeves and braces.
During his six-year tenure as the rock critic for the St. Petersburg Times, Eric once asked James Brown how he was feeling, to which the late legend replied by exclaiming, “I feel good!”
That’s something Eric can say on most days — although not with the same verve as the Godfather of Soul.
