A deluge of awards, exciting developments, new clients and more.
ADDYs — On Thursday, Feb. 16, Paradise scored big at the Tampa Bay American Advertising Awards Gala, taking home 14 ADDYs — including the coveted Best of Show — for our “We Are Go Vactionauts” campaign on behalf of Space Florida. The multi-media initiative, created to encourage individuals to make space part of their Florida vacation, includes television, social media and digital ads. It also features an interactive app that includes games, quizzes, polls and the like, and allows users to move up through the Vacationaut “ranks” and win badges. Promotional materials like a ‘60s-style lunchbox and limited-edition posters made a big impression on the judges. In addition to Best of Show, the campaign won a bevy of Gold, Silver and Best of the Bay ADDYs. (See full list is below.) “What this ultimately means is that Paradise produced the best creative in the Tampa Bay area in 2016,” Chief Creative Officer Tom Merrick told the staff during a morning “donut toast”. “There are a lot of really creative shops around here, so it’s quite an achievement.”
Adrians — On Feb. 21, Paradise won eight awards in front of a crowd of more than 1,000 at the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International’s Awards Gala in New York City. The Adrian Awards are regarded as the “Oscars” of the travel and hospitality marketing industry. Paradise’s eight medals were awarded to five different clients — Daytona Beach Convention & Visitors bureau; Collier County CVB; Orlando North, Seminole County CVB; Space Florida; and Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium. They included wins across the television advertising and digital/web categories. (See the full award list below).
Santa Rosa County — Paradise extended its Florida client reach into the Panhandle by signing the Santa Rosa County Convention & Visitors Bureau as a full-service account. It joins Paradise’s ever-growing list of destination, travel, attractions and lifestyle clients. Navarre Beach, the county’s jewel, is a getaway situated between the more bustling beach towns of Destin and Pensacola. The Paradise Creative Team has presented its first campaign, which received glowing feedback from the CVB and tourist development council. The PR team built a new press kit and aggressively pitched the little-known destination, landing quick placements in MSN, Florida Travel & Lifestyles magazine, Trailblazer magazine (Dallas), and mom.com. A New York Times travel piece is on the way.
