Sustainable development holds a key place in the future of the globe, from agriculture to natural resources to transportation.

Tourism lies at the nexus of many of those issues, as visitors move around the world to explore different communities, environments, and cultures. That makes a sustainable approach to tourism crucial to the future of the industry, the communities it supports and the natural world upon which they both rely.

For that reason, Paradise Advertising & Marketing Inc. has signed the Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge as a demonstration of our commitment to improve the sustainability performance of our business between now and 2030.

The UN World Tourism Organization defines sustainable tourism as “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities.”

Each year, Paradise commits to remaining committed to setting annual agency goals and measuring and improving our sustainability performance. On behalf of our partners, we strive to devise and implement strategies which align with the outcomes of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change to promote sustainable tourism that creates jobs, enhances economies, improves communities, and promotes local culture and products. In doing that, we:

  1. Make optimal use of environmental resources that constitute a key element in tourism development, maintaining essential ecological processes and helping to conserve natural heritage and biodiversity.
  2. Respect the socio-cultural authenticity of host communities, conserve their built and living cultural heritage and traditional values, and contribute to inter-cultural understanding and tolerance.
  3. Ensure viable, long-term economic operations, providing socio-economic benefits to all stakeholders that are fairly distributed, including stable employment and income-earning opportunities and social services to host communities, and contributing to poverty alleviation.
  4. Endeavor to engage partners, vendors and suppliers that honor and embody sustainable business practices.

We remind ourselves every day that part of our mission is to protect the beloved places and communities we represent. Every action, big or small, truly can make a difference to the world we all share. To learn more, visit the links below.
