Paradise Advertising & Marketing Inc. has promoted Cristina “Cris” Duschek to VP, Enterprise Communications, a new role, to oversee a blend of innovative strategic communications for the award-winning, growing agency.
Previously having served as Director of Public Relations for Paradise, Cris has created and executed communication, branding and marketing campaigns for a variety of industries and clients for more than two decades. Her experience spans an impressive clientele such as Bvlgari Jewelry, PricewaterhouseCoopers (Almaty and Toronto), Gabriel Resources, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, The Dali Museum, and JW Marco Island Beach Resort.
Having returned to Paradise in early 2020, Cris had also been with the agency from 2013 to 2015. Before rejoining Paradise, she managed internal and external communications for the University of Arizona Foundation and also oversaw National Media Relations for Visit Tampa Bay. A former journalist, she has written and reported for a wide range of publications, including The Economist, Adweek, American Banker, and The Washington Post. Born in Bucharest, Romania, Cris grew up in New York City and spent much of her professional career working in New York, as well as all over the globe, from Canada to Kazakhstan to Romania.
“Cris’ global influence and communications dexterity perfectly suits the dynamics and rhythm needed to propel our business forward,” said Barbara Karasek, CEO and Co-owner of Paradise. “Cris will serve as an exceptional steward to deepen our internal culture while externally telling our story in a relevant, enterprising, high-impact fashion. It’s merely one more way we continue to deliver the Power of + in all that we do.”
Cris will be based in St. Johns County, joining eight other Paradise team members based in the greater-Jacksonville area who all work remotely from home offices. A former Division I tennis student-athlete, Cris is a graduate of Harvard University and holds a master’s degree in Journalism from New York University.
