Known to savvy travelers as one of America’s “bucket list” destinations, Savannah is eager to re-energize its marketing communications to reflect the dynamic new developments happening in this historic coastal city. After a thorough search for an agency that could help elevate the Visit Savannah brand, the city’s destination marketing organization ultimately decided to partner with Paradise.
“Paradise showed us a unique ability to get to the soul and essence of a destination,” said Joseph Marinelli, President of Visit Savannah. “We were impressed with how well they were able to truly differentiate Florida beach destinations, and we feel their processes and creative abilities will be able to do the same for a classic Southern city as unique as Savannah.”
The coastal Georgia city joins an agency client roster that includes Naples, Marco Island & The Everglades; Space Florida; Orlando North, Seminole County; Navarre Beach, and Amelia Island. In fact, it was Paradise’s highly decorated and hugely successful campaign for Amelia Island that first caught Visit Savannah’s attention, prompting them to include the St. Petersburg-based firm in their agency search.
Paradise will be tasked with refining the Visit Savannah logo, as well as creating an entirely new advertising campaign that addresses the leisure, meetings, groups and weddings markets. The campaign’s goal is to help increase overnight travel to Savannah and positively impact hotel business, bed tax collections and overall visitor spending.
The Paradise team has already spent some time getting to know the city, and expects its creative to capture the destination’s distinct flavor.
“Savannah is so much more than just the charming Southern city you expect it to be,” said Tom Merrick, VP and Chief Creative Officer for Paradise. “It’s beautiful and historic, yes. But it also has a quirkiness and attitude that might surprise you. The funky shops and restaurants, the creative energy, the one-of-a-kind characters — they’re all exhilarating to experience. We can’t wait to create a campaign that captures that unique spirit and does this amazing city justice.”
