Discover the Magic of Skagit.

THE GOOD NEWS

Skagit Valley Washington is a lovely destination located about an hour north of Seattle and offers the full range of Pacific Northwest goodness — stunning seashores, endless tulip farms, majestic, craggy North Cascade mountains, soaring bald eagles, estuarine habitats, thriving agriculture cooperatives, and so much more.

The beauty and bounty of this biologically diverse place has an almost magical quality to it, so it only made sense to bring the destination image to life with a new identity, brand position, and campaign entitled “Discover the Magic of Skagit.”

After the new “Discover the Magic of Skagit” campaign launched in 2022 alongside the region’s new tourism bureau, the enhanced national brand awareness benefitted the destination in numerous ways:

  • 2.14 million overnight visitors in 2023, reflecting strong destination demand and brand traction.
  • $14.8 million in local lodging tax revenues collected in 2023, directly attributed to visitor spending.
  • ~$656.60 household savings in 2023, thanks to tourism-generated tax relief.
  • Tourism employs 3.62% of the county’s workforce, nearly back to pre‑pandemic employment levels.
  • Skagit Valley Tulip Festival drew over 450,000 visitors in 2025, generating approximately $80 million in revenue.
  • Tulip festival revenue increased year-over-year, up from ~$65 million in 2024 to $80 million in 2025.
  • Visitor-supported spending stimulated local business growth, including farm stands, lodging, dining, and arts and events across Skagit County.
