The Dark Skies Integrated Campaign was created to elevate awareness of Big Cypress National Preserve as the first ever International Dark Sky Park and to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Florida’s Paradise Coast needed to highlight its
ecological footprint as a complement to its world-renowned beaches, drawing the attention of a unique nighttime experience that could attract new audiences and visitors, extend stays and help populate the destination during shoulder season.
We aimed to educate and inspire travelers by showcasing the preserve’s unmatched stargazing, astrophotography, and ranger-led experiences while positioning Big Cypress as a must-visit destination for astrotourism enthusiasts, families, and eco-conscious travelers.

By leveraging multi-channel storytelling, we launched a dedicated landing page as a central hub with engaging content and education. A long-form video documentary was supported by short-form social edits for teaser micro campaigns.
Expert articles published featured rangers, photographers and astronomers to provide the campaign with authentic voices and guidance.
The goal was to educate and encourage travelers to experience Big Cypress at night, while conveying important information about light pollution, dark sky preservation, and eco-friendly practices. This helped position Florida’s Paradise Coast as a leader in sustainable tourism marketing.
