In our next edition of Faces of Paradise, we introduce you to a client and account services do-it-all, proud UF alumna, fitness fanatic, and unicyclist – Haley Mackenzie.
What do you do at Paradise and how long have you been with the agency?
I am an Account Coordinator for Paradise and December will mark my one-year anniversary with the agency.
Tell us more about your role at Paradise
In this role, I provide support to the account team with internal processes and client communication, along with managing a handful of clients with the support of my team.
How long have you been in Marketing & Communications? What drew you to a career in our field?
I’ve been in the field for about a year. I was drawn to marketing because it blends strategic and logical thinking with creativity. I also enjoy collaborating with talented people across the spectrum of marketing and communications disciplines. There’s always something new to learn and no two days are the same!
Alma mater/degree
I earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the University of Florida and then continued at UF to complete my master’s degree in mass communication with a focus on Digital Strategy. Go Gators! *Chomp*.
How do you spend your time when not connecting people to brands?
When I’m not working, you will usually catch me at the beach or at a fitness class. I just completed my first Deka Strong fitness competition!
Last tv series/show that you’ve binged or been hooked on?
Some of my latest include “Shrinking”, “Nobody Wants This”, and “Dancing with the Stars” (team Robert or Alix).
Favorite movie of all time?
“Step Brothers”
What’s getting heavy rotation in your music playlist these days?
Sticky Fingers, Olivia Dean, No Cigar, and the “Wicked” movie soundtrack.
What’s one thing about you that people would be surprised to learn?
I can ride a unicycle.
What else should we know about you?
- I have a mixed breed dog from the Bahamas named Tillo! They call these dogs from the Caribbean “Potcakes.” His name comes from the Cay, Tilloo, around where he was born…we just dropped an “O.”
- I love to travel! My family is traveling to Europe over Thanksgiving. We are going to visit Barcelona and Milan.
Favorite Paradise memory or experience?
Our recent Account Team retreat. While we’re fortunate to be able to work remotely, it was so great getting the team together for the week!
What does being a “Partner for Good” mean to you?
To me, being a “Partner for Good” means showing up for others, both for our clients and in our communities. It’s about making choices that come from a place of care and kindness.
