Faces of Paradise: Stephanie McKinnon

Equal parts strategic thinker, beach enthusiast, and Disney planner extraordinaire, when she’s not helping clients bring bold ideas to life and keeping campaigns running smoothly, you’ll likely find her with a good book in hand, soaking up the Florida sunshine at the beach, or squeezing in a walk or jog. Her mix of creativity, energy, and positivity makes her not only a trusted partner for clients, but also a fun and uplifting presence for the agency. Take a few minutes to learn more about Account Supervisor, Stephanie McKinnon.

What do you do at Paradise and how long have you been with the agency?

I’m an Account Supervisor and I’ve been with the agency for just over eight months.

Tell us more about your role at Paradise

As Account Supervisor, I serve as the primary liaison for a group of agency clients. I’m somewhat of an “orchestrator,” overseeing all the moving parts and communications necessary to not only meet, but exceed our clients’ expectations.

How long have you been in Marketing & Communications? What drew you to a career in our field?

I’ve worked in Marketing & Communications for 19 years. After college, I fell into a front desk position with an advertising agency in Orlando that specialized in hospitality brands.  I have worked my way up from there, absorbing and learning everything I could about the industry along the way. My career journey has exposed me to several different categories including banking, real estate, retail, healthcare, and now back to my passion- tourism and hospitality.

Alma mater/degree

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality.

How do you spend your time when not connecting people to brands?

When not spending time with my family, I like to read, enjoy the great St. Petersburg area beaches, listen to podcasts, and walk/jog along the St. Pete Pier.  And I must admit, I’m a huge Disney fan.

Last tv series/show that you’ve binged or been hooked on?

Lately, it’s been a mixed bag. I’ve enjoyed period dramas like “Gilded Age” and “Bridgerton” while also staying up to speed on reality shows like “Bachelor/ette” and “Love is Blind.” I’m also a sucker for a good Hallmark holiday movie.

Favorite movie of all time?

It’s a toss-up between “Tommy Boy” and “Now & Then.”

What’s getting heavy rotation in your music playlist these days?

Noah Kahan.

What’s one thing about you that people would be surprised to learn?

I don’t like shopping.

Favorite Paradise memory or experience?

Traveling to Hendersonville, NC this January with my colleagues Kristen & Rudy for our client’s annual retreat. We had a great time exploring the town, meeting and bonding with our clients and agency partners, and growing as a team.

What else should we know about you?

My husband, Ryan, and I have two boys- Nolan (10) & Bridger (7) and I can’t forget to mention our beautiful Corgi, Lola.

What does being a “Partner for Good” mean to you?

Looking out for each other – for better or worse, we have each other’s backs and support each other’s goals. A mantra that rings true both internally as Paradise teammates and for our clients.
